It’s a little known fact (?) that this is my absolute favorite time of year.  Just as I’m recovering from a turkey-indused coma, the DC social circuit goes into high gear.  Count yourself lucky, my loyal readers, that you get to live vicariously through me this season.

OK, your life probably is a lot more interesting than mine but if not here’s what you can look forward to reading about over the next couple weeks:

Wednesday night is my first cocktail class with Gina at EatBar.  Needless to say, I’m pretty stoked.  Learning to pair food and cocktails while eating great food and drinking great cocktails?  Seems like a strong Wednesday to me.

Thursday is the TN/GA State Societies tacky Christmas sweater party.  I doubt it will be a culinary adventure, but it’ll be a blast anyway.

Friday is Repeal Day.  I’ll be starting off at CATO’s “Free to Booze” event for their talk about repeal and other things repealy.  Let me tell you just how stoked I am not only for the talk, but that Jacob Grier and Jeffrey Morganthaler mixing up some prohibition era potions behind the bar.  Unfortunately, I have a birthday party and can’t to the DC Craft Bartenders Celebration.  That sucker should be a blast.

Saturday brings about the annual ChristmaHannaKwanzaica party and another annual apartment bash.

Next week is full of office parties and my little holiday shindig.  This time around, I think it will be pretty easy.  No in depth cocktail menu this time — just coolers full of beer, some mulled wine, a ham, and Guitar Hero.

Sunday it’s back to EatBar for one of my favorite DC institutions, cocktails and movies.  My lovely girlfriend and I had our first real social engagement there, so we figured it was time to head back for her favorite Christmas movie, Elf.  The food is always great, as are the drinks.  I’ll probably review our experience.

On top of it all, the official Christmas Party Season (TM) is in full swing.  If I get a minute free, you know I’ll be trying to hit up the free booze from some defense contractor or interest group.
